so i had an amazingly awesome post for you yesterday, but i ended up making valentine's cookies/removing my car from the world's biggest cube of ice instead. anyway... i have a knockout outfit today to make up for it. get excited.

okay, maybe it's just me, but i thought this outfit would make an awesome v-day alternative to the baby pinks and fiery reds that the rest of the cliched world will be sporting.
- the dress is a lovely deep magenta chiffon, complete with enough-cleavage-bearing sweetheart neckline and a waist-hugging bodice. it's guaranteed to make a romantic out of anyone.
- the clutch is where the fire comes in: bright yellow velvet with a bow. it's definitely a statement, but the soft, luxurious texture and small size make it bearable (don't try to replicate it with, say, a yellow trench, unless you want to be laughed at).
- the shoes are a high enough heel to make you feel sexy, but not a stripper-platform-holy-crap-i'm-going-to-fall height. plus, the magenta color keeps the outfit fluid instead of breaking it up with nude or black pumps.
- let's talk about these jewels. the ring was the inspiration for the outfit because of it's unique darkness that compliments the accessories and accentuates the dark hues of the dress.... which naturally led to the discovery of the matching bracelet and earrings: all alexis bittar (= fabulous).
